1930 Moreland- Under Restoration

Forestry · Lakewood

The 1930 Moreland - 2012 no paint, 2013 painted!
Restoration is moving along... it is in the process of being put together again.
This will be the centerpiece of our
planned Wildland Firefighter Display. Kevin Woyjeck spent
many hours working on this restoration .

1930 Moreland Pumper

The Moreland Truck Company was located in Burbank, California, and a number of them were purchased by both the LA City and County Fire Departments. Several of the alphabetical pumpers ("A" through "R") used by the County Forestry Department were Morelands.

Not much is known of this engine’s history during the next fifteen years, but some time in the early 1940’s it found its way back to the County fire department. At that time it was designated as Engine 45 in the new Lakewood Fire Protection District.

Again, we don’t have much history about this rig during its second period of County service. What is known is that in the summer of 1996 it became part of the growing CLAFMA collection. The Signal Hill LaFrance is now awaiting a total frame-off restoration to its original appearance.

You can read more about the restoration progress on our Restoring the 1930 Mooreland page.
